Tampa, FL — The Florida Gators have secured their first commitment for the 2025 recruiting class in the form of four-star running back Waltez Clark from Tampa’s Plant High School. Clark, who has been part of the Gators’ recruiting radar since September last year, solidified his commitment with a visit to Gainesville this past weekend, marking a significant milestone in his football journey.

Clark’s decision to join the Gators comes after several visits to Gainesville, where he has familiarized himself with the campus and football program. However, his official visit over the weekend provided him with an extended opportunity to interact with players and explore more of the city.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Waltez to our 2025 recruiting class,” said Coach Dan Mullen. “His athleticism and commitment to excellence on and off the field make him an ideal addition to our program.”

At 6 feet tall and known for his speed and versatility, Clark brings a dynamic presence to the Gators’ backfield. His commitment underscores the Gators’ ongoing efforts to bolster their roster with top talent for the upcoming seasons.

“Florida felt like home from the beginning,” Clark remarked. “I’m excited to contribute to the team’s success and represent the Gator Nation.”

Clark’s commitment sets a positive tone for the Gators’ recruiting efforts as they continue to build towards a competitive future in collegiate football. With Clark onboard, the anticipation builds for the impact he will bring to the field when he officially joins the team.
