The Los Angeles Rams may have celebrated a hard-fought win in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, but head coach Sean McVay didn’t leave the game completely unscathed. While his players battled on the field, McVay ended up with a surprising addition of his own to the injury conversation a foot issue that will linger for some time.
During his weekly appearance on The Coach McVay Show, the Rams’ energetic leader revealed that he tore his plantar fascia. McVay admitted he had been “limping around” dramatically toward the end of the game, though at first, the extent of the injury wasn’t clear. An MRI later confirmed the tear.
“Foot’s good,” McVay joked. “I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that’s a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster. But I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game. The good news is I’m not playing. I’m just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you’ll know why.”
Fortunately, McVay won’t need to run routes or make tackles anytime soon. Still, it’s uncertain whether he’ll require a walking boot or additional support in the coming weeks. For now, Rams fans can expect to see their coach on the sideline possibly with a new swagger in his step, albeit one caused by injury rather than design.
