Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has officially confirmed that Eli Tomac will return for one final year in the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship, bringing renewed excitement to fans and the racing community. One of the most decorated riders in the history of the sport, Tomac will once again line up aboard the Yamaha YZ450F, aiming to make one more championship run and further cement his legendary status in Supercross, Motocross, and the unique SuperMotocross World Championship Finals.

The 2025 season marks Tomac’s fourth year with the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team, a partnership that has already delivered incredible success. Since joining the team in 2022, Tomac has tallied an impressive number of wins—15 in Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX and 14 moto wins in Pro Motocross 450MX. Despite injuries cutting short his last two Supercross campaigns, Tomac’s determination and dominance when healthy have kept him at the forefront of the sport. His ability to come back strong, even after setbacks, has been a hallmark of his racing career.

Tomac’s debut season with Yamaha in 2022 was historic. That year, he achieved the rare feat of clinching both the 450SX and 450MX titles, showcasing his adaptability and raw speed across different terrains and formats. He also served as Team Captain for the victorious Team USA squad at the Motocross of Nations, a significant milestone in American motocross. These accomplishments not only validated his move to Yamaha but also elevated his legacy in both national and international competition.

Statistically, Tomac stands among the greatest riders to ever race. He currently sits second on the all-time 450SX win list, with 52 career victories—trailing only Jeremy McGrath. He also holds the record for the most Daytona Supercross wins with seven, tying the iconic Richard Petty for the most wins at Daytona International Speedway. These numbers speak volumes about his consistency, versatility, and elite performance on some of the sport’s most demanding stages.

Yamaha is thrilled to have Tomac back for one final season, and the team is fully committed to helping him go out on a high note. “Yamaha is extremely excited to announce that Eli Tomac will be returning for the 2025 season, for his final year of Supercross, Motocross, and SuperMotocross,” said Jim Roach, Yamaha Racing Department Manager for Yamaha Motor USA. “Eli is a fierce competitor who has had a large amount of success on the YZ450F. We look forward to the 2025 season, and our continued success.”

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager Jeremy Coker echoed the enthusiasm, saying, “Having Eli make the decision to come back for another year is a big one for both him and the team. We are looking forward to his final year of racing and we will do everything in our power to have him go out on top.”

As the 2025 SMX season approaches, fans can look forward to one more chapter in the extraordinary career of Eli Tomac. With titles on the line and history still in the making, Tomac’s farewell tour promises to be unforgettable.
