Brent Naden and Jayden Sullivan, linked with departures from the Wests Tigers in recent weeks, have reportedly been given permission to explore other opportunities. The Tigers, currently at the bottom of the NRL ladder and heading towards their third consecutive wooden spoon, are undergoing significant roster changes as they plan for the future.

Jake Simpkin (Sea Eagles) and Asu Kepaoa (Panthers) have already secured early releases to join rival clubs, and second-rower Isaiah Papali’i (Panthers) will follow suit next season by joining the reigning premiers.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the Tigers have allowed Brent Naden and Jayden Sullivan to seek new opportunities despite both being under contract. Sullivan’s future with the Tigers appears uncertain following the signing of three-time premiership winner Jarome Luai and the emergence of young talent Lachlan Galvin. Rugby League Live reports that a deal between the Tigers and Super League club Salford Red Devils for Sullivan’s transfer has been agreed upon, pending Sullivan’s agreement.

Meanwhile, Brent Naden, contracted with the Tigers until the end of the 2025 season, is reportedly considering a move to the Catalan Dragons for next season. Since joining the Wests Tigers from the Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs, Naden has made 24 first-grade appearances over the past three seasons, showing promise in the NSW Cup but struggling to replicate that form at the top level.

Additionally, Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson reportedly met with Lachlan Galvin at his family’s home in south-western Sydney on Wednesday to discuss the young player’s desire for an early release from his contract.
